Cesár Sampson reveals more details about “Nobody but You”

Cesár Sampson was last month revealed as the artist to represent Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon. In a new interview he talks about his entry and his time involved with previous contests.
In an interview with Prinz-ESC-Blog Cesár gave the following details about the musical direction of the song:

Stylistically, I’m probably what you can call a cross-over artist. For me, there are always several genres, and this song is no different. It’s a very modern song, in which you can hear everything from the bleeding heart of the blues to the indomitable dedication of the gospel to the triumphantly clenched fist of classic rock – if you want!

What we know so far

The Symphonix International production team are involved in the creation of “Nobody But You”. Symphonix International, which Cesár helped in founding, have had recent success being behind the last two entries for Bulgaria: “If Love was a Crime” in 2016 and “Beautiful Mess” in 2017. Cesár has had experience on the Eurovision stage already, as vocal producer and backing vocalist for these two past Bulgarian entries.

When it became clear that we were going to support Poli Genova at the ESC, I was called in as a vocal producer, and of course I helped Poli well. We knew each other at this time for several years, were all together on vacation, etc. So it was a real family thing.

Cesár’s song “Nobody but You” will be revealed in February. Nathan Trent represented Austria in 2017 with “Running on Air”, finishing 16th at the Eurovision Grand Final in Kyiv.

Are you looking forward to hearing Cesár’s song? Do you think it has the potential to achieve the success of the past two Bulgarian entries?  Let us know in the comments below or on social media @escXtra
