At the annual Eurovision Club Germany meeting in Cologne, we had the chance to speak with Brendan Murray, who represented Ireland in Kyiv back in May. We had a little chat about his Eurovision experience and his future plans.
Eurovision 2017
Brendan told us how much he loved everything about the Eurovision trip. From the pre-events to the big stage in Kyiv. Moreover, he was amazed by all the passionate fans and the Eurovision feeling. After the contest, he went back home to relax until he was going to Madrid to perform with Manel, who represented Spain last year. Several gigs in Ireland followed. Brendan and Manel were part of a concert for over 15.000 people in Spain later. Bands like DNCE were part of the line-up.
Talking about doing Eurovision again, he told us, that after the semi-final in Kyiv the HoD from Ireland said, that he would nearly give Brendan a second chance. Even though he doesn’t know what RTE, the Irish broadcaster, is up to this year, he send in a song. Afterall, he would love to be part of it again.
Next plans
After he uploaded some covers and original songs on YouTube he is now planning on releasing some music on iTunes and Spotify. His plan, for now, is to put them out during the beginning of the new year. Brendan is currently working on new music with other musicians from Ireland and his brother.
While his favorite Eurovision song is “Fairytale” by Alexander Rybak, he would not say no to work with Alex in the future. We think that would be a great idea!
Thank you, Brendan, for taking the time to talk to us! We can’t wait to see what you are up to in the future.
