🇮🇱 Voting for Eden Alene’s Eurovision 2021 entry opens

The winner will be revealed on Monday

After one of the most turbulent selection processes in recent years, voting has opened for Eden Alene’s Eurovision 2021 entry. This comes shortly after the announcement that Eden will not be performing the songs live due to COVID-restrictions. Instead, the music video for each track will be broadcast.

As a result of increasing COVID cases in Israel and a national lockdown, a live national final will no longer be possible in two weeks. Rather than delay or cancel, KAN have reportedly opted to broadcast music videos for the three entries.

This marks a departure from the original concept, where all three songs were due to be performed live by Eden ahead of the announcement of the online voting results. The entry itself will still be chosen by 100% public vote, which is now open.

The videos for each song, and details of how to vote, can be found on KAN’s website.

Eden Alene’s Eurovision journey (so far)

In 2020, Eden Alene was selected to represent Israel at Rotterdam. Another national final took place, which saw ‘Feker Libi’ chosen as their entry. Despite the cancellation of the 2020 contest, it’s been confirmed that Eden will represent Israel at the 2021 contest.

Having whittled down over 200 submissions to just nine, the public were able to hear nine demos. After 11 days of public voting, the top two were automatically qualified and third song was selected by an expert jury assembled by KAN. On January 25, one of La La Love, Ue La La or Set Me Free will be selected to be her entry for Rotterdam 2021.
