Lisbon 2018

Eurovision 2018 Venues confirmed

The venues that will be hosting the Eurovillage, the Blue Carpet and the Euroclub have been confirmed. The following venues below have the honor of hosting the following events.

Praça do Comércio (Terreiro do Paço)

Situated near the Tagus River, the main square in Lisbon is still commonly known as Terreiro do Paço, it is one of the biggest squares in Europe, which often displays beautiful works of art and sculpture, and is a great place for a leisurely stroll.
Terreiro do Paço will be the home of the Eurovision Village where there is usually performances from Eurovision artists. The Eurovision Village is also known for where Eurovision fans would meet and gather when there isn’t anything happening in the arena (besides the rehearsals and shows)

MAAT Museum

The Museum of Art, Architecture, and Technology Museum is located in Belem. It is the new cultural center of Lisbon and it is home to contributions by contemporary artists, architects, and thinkers.
Out of all the venues that will be hosting the Eurovision related events, MAAT Museum will be the furthest from the city center.
The MAAT Museum will be the home of the Blue Carpet (yes you read that right!) the previous Sunday before the Grand Final (6th May 2018)

Cais do Sodré

Cais do Sodré is located in the south of Lisbon and is home to a range of clubs and restaurants. The neighborhood will have the honor of hosting the Euroclub for Eurovision 2018, it is also a short hop from Terreiro do Paço which is home to the Eurovision Village, so it will be easy to hop in between the two.
However, it should be noted that Cais do Sodré is not located adjacent to Altice Arena and can take at least 30 minutes to get to the Arena using public transportation.
I for one, went to Lisbon last month in order to get a feel of what the city is going to be like for Eurovision fans like me. It also gave me a chance to see what it is going to be like going around Lisbon, so stay tuned to our Youtube Page! and look out for our videos about Lisbon.
Do you like the venues chosen for the 2018 contest?. Are there any other venues that you would have preferred for the events to have taken place?. Let us know your opinions and thoughts below at @ESCXTRA.

I started watching Eurovision ever since I moved to the UK in 2006, obsessed since 2012 and haven't looked back since.
