Final on Februray 10th in Aalborg
The final of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2018 will take place in Aalborg on Saturday, February 10th. Annette Heick and former Lighthouse X member Johannes Nymark will host the show. It will be the second year in a row for them to host the Danish national final.
There final will consist of two rounds, with three songs proceeding to the final round. A combination of televote and jury vote, composed of five Eurovision fans, will decide the winner.
An everlasting tradition will be cancelled for 2018. No longer will we have pre-recorded postcards before every entry taking part in DMGP 2018. Instead, Jan Lagermand Lundme has decided to have post-performance interviews with each of the contestants.
You can’t listen to the songs just yet. DR have confirmed that the ten entries taking part will be released on February 5th.
Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest
Denmark first appeared at Eurovision in 1957 and it has taken part in 46 contests. It won Eurovion three times: in 1963 with Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann, in 2000 with the Olsen Brothers and 2013 with Emmelie de Forest. Since the introduction of the semi-finals in 2004, it missed out on four grand finals. Last year, they were represented by the talented Danish-Australian singer Anja Nissen with Where I am, placing 20th.
