Two days ago, on 20th of January, an artist from Spanish boy band singer had a birthday. Today however are three Eurovision birthday ladies. One is an American singer and songwriter that now lives in Europe. Another is took part for Ireland as a part of a group. And last one is know for her “bad” outfit. Hanna Mancini, Sinédad Mulvey and Barbara Dex were born on this day.
Barbara Dex, 44
Belgium chose Barbara to sing on their behalf in 1993. That is why she went on stage in Ireland with her song “lemand als jij”. Unfortunately for the song, the self-made dress got more attention. Because the dress inspired tradition of voting for the worst dress contestant. and has been awarded since then. The song sadly came last out of 25 countries.
Barbara Dex took two more times at the Belgium national selection, in 2004 and in 2006. The earlier one she was in 3rd place and the second time in the 5th place.

Hannah Mancini, 38
Slovenia selected the American singer Hannah to be their representative in Malmö, Sweden. That is why she sang her song “Straight Into Love” at the first semi final. The song however did not qualify to the final.
As well as performing herself on the stage she also took part in 2014 for Slovenia as a songwriter for the song “Round and Round“.
Sinéad Muvley, 30
Ireland picked Sinéad and the rock band Black Daisy in 2009 to be their act at Eurovision. Therefore they sang “Et Cetera” at the stage in Moscow, Russian. Just as Hannah, Muley failed to reach the final.
