The Eurovision season is well underway now. It’s a Monday, but still, we’re getting two songs for Lisbon tonight. The Spanish will pick their song live during Operación Triunfo. The Czech Republic will reveal their entry after an online voting process.
Eurovision Song CZ
We’re not getting to see the songs live tonight in the Czech Republic. In fact, we’ve not seen any of them perform these songs live! The Czech broadcaster instead opted for an online national final, based on the studio versions.
Half of the voting has already been revealed, with Mikolas Josef winning the international jury voting. Tonight, we’ll be hearing the winner of the entire selection. The winner will be revealed during the news, between 19:00 and 19:30 CET. The news will be broadcast on CT1.
The six hopefuls:
- Debbi – High On Love
- Mikolas Josef – Lie To Me
- Doctor Victor – StandUP
- Pavel Callta – Never Forget
- Eddie Stoilow – We Rule This World
- Eva Burešová – Fly
Operación Triunfo – Eurovisión Gala
Furthermore, Operación Triunfo has been going for ages and it will continue after tonight. However, the Eurovision show will take place today. The winner of tonight’s show will represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.
Five acts remain at Operación Triunfo, but six take part in tonight’s show. Last week,, Agoney was eliminated from the show. However, he will return tonight for a competing duet, together with Miriam.
If you’re ready to watch Spain’s national final, you’re up for a late one! The show will commence at 22:30 CET, with a scheduled end time of 01:15 CET… Let’s hope not many people are having an early start at work tomorrow!
The nine competing acts:
- Aitana, Alfred, Amaia, Miriam & Ana Guerra – Camina
- Aitana – Arde
- Alfred – Que Nos Sigan Las Luces
- Amaia – Al Cantar
- Ana Guerra – El Remedio
- Miriam – Lejos De Tu Piel
- Miriam & Agoney – Magia
- Aitana & Ana Guerra – Lo Malo
- Amaia & Alfred – Tu Canción
After the first round tonight, three songs will immediately progress to a superfinal. In that superfinal, televoting will also decide who will represent Spain in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. An expert panel will review all entries. The members of that panel are:
- Luísa Sobral – Eurovision 2017 winning composer
- Victor Escudero – Editor at Eurovision.tv
- Julia Varela – RTVE journalist, Eurovision commentator
- Manuel Martos – Artistic director at Universal Music Spain
We’ll also have some intervals, with Luísa Sobral, Conchita Wurst, J Balvin and Manel Navarro all being present at the show. The show will be broadcast at La Una. We will be tweeting throughout the show!
