Alekseev will not be disqualified from Belarus’ Eurovision final

Alekseev’s participation in Belarus’ national selection has not been a smooth one. He was originally due to participate in Ukraine’s Vidbir, before switching to the Belarusian selection. Then news broke that he had performed his entry back in May 2017. However, after making some changes to Forever, BTRC have confirmed that they won’t disqualify him.
One singer has even withdrawn from the Belarusian selection due to the controversy; Sofi Lapina withdrew three weeks ago and several other singers have signed an open letter appealing for Alekseev’s disqualification!

Alekseev has modified Forever

The Belarusian broadcaster, BTRC, have confirmed that Alekseev is eligible to compete in Belarus’ national selection and will not be disqualified. They made this decision after he made changes to his song, Forever, and BTRC say that the song no longer breaks the contes rules.
