In the days that have followed the Czech Republic’s announcement of Mikolas Josef as their representative for Lisbon, Portugal this May, ČT have revealed the full results from Eurovision Song CZ and speculation persists about the need to re-write elements of “Lie to Me” for the Eurovision stage.
Mikolas wins comfortably
ČT published a full breakdown in scores from both the jury element of Eurovision Song CZ and the public vote. The top act received 8 points, the runner up received 6 and the third placed act received 4. Fourth, fifth and sixth places received, 3, 2 and 1 points respectively.

- 8 points – Mikolas Josef – “Lie to Me” – 68 points from ten judges.
- 6 points – Debbi – “High on Love” – 54 points from ten judges.
- 4 points – Pavel Callta – “Never Forget” – 34 points from ten judges.
- 3 points – Doctor Victor – “Stand Up” – 30 points from ten judges.
- 2 points – Eddie Stoilow – “We Rule This World” – 27 points from ten judges.
- 2 points – Eva Burešová – “Fly” – 27 points from ten judges.

A re-write on the cards for “Lie to Me”
Of course, as we previously discussed, “Lie to Me” contains three uses of expletive language. This breaks the EBU rules in regards to songs which can be performed at Eurovision.
Our colleagues at Eurovoix revealed this week that Mikolas will be travelling to Austria to work on the clean version of his song for Eurovision.
