ESCXTRA: Live from Lisbon

Second semi qualifiers draw their Grand Final halves

At the press conference of the second semifinal qualifiers, the lucky ten have drawn their halves for the Grand Final of the Eurovision. Six ballots for the second half were left, meaning the other four would draw the first half.

The first half

After what felt like an overwhelming first half drawing on Sunday and Tuesday, there were just four slots left in the first half. Many of the songs drawn there up until now were ballads. It’ll be interesting to see who the EBU choose as Grand Final opener after the following four acts drew a first half ballot:

  •  Serbia: Sanja Ilic & Balkanika – Nova Deca
  •  Ukraine: Mélovin – Under The Ladder
  •  Norway: Alexander Rybak – That’s How You Write A Song
  •  Slovenia: Lea Sirk – Hvala, Ne

The second half

The two top favourites for Eurovision victory were already in this second half. Both Cyprus and Israel managed to pick the second half. Six others joined them tonight. Those six are:

  •  Moldova: DoReDoS – My Lucky Day
  •  Hungary: AWS – Viszlát Nyár
  •  Sweden: Benjamin Ingrosso – Dance You Off
  •  Australia: Jessica Mauboy – We Got Love
  •  Denmark: Rasmussen – Higher Ground
  •  The Netherlands: Waylon – Outlaw In ‘Em

Here’s how it’s looking…

Below you can see an overview of who is in which half. The running order for the Grand Final will probably be out later tonight. The team of producers will be working in full swing to make sure a good running order can be published as soon as possible.
