The first semi-final of the Estonian pre-selection Eesti Laul 2018 took place tonight. Ten acts tried to get a spot in the grand final to represent Estonia in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. Only five made it to the final. The finalists were decided by a mix of 50/50 jury and televoting. The show was hosted by hosted by Kristen Aaslaid and Martin Veisman.

- Sibyl Vane — “Thousand Worlds”
- Aden Ray — “Everybody’s Dressed”
- Tiiu x Okym x Semy — “Näita oma energiat”
- Stig Rästa — “Home”
- Miljardid — “Pseudoprobleem”
- Desiree — “On My Mind”
- Elina Netšajeva — “La Forza”
Next week the second semi-final will take place to find the last five acts for the grand final of Eesti Laul 2018. The grand final will take place on the 3rd March.
Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest:
Estonia debuted in 1994. They have won the contest once so far. This was in 2001. Last year Estonia was represented by Koit Toome & Laura with “Verona”. Despite being a fan favorite they finished 14th in the second semi-final in Kyiv.
