The Scoop

David Lindgren: “I want to represent Sweden sometime”

We had the chance to have a little chat with our #Melfest host David Lindgren in Malmö. He already hosts the big Swedish show for the second time in a row. He’s still very excited about his job, but we also talked about possible new music.

Xtra interview with David Lindgren

David told us, that it’s a lot of fun doing the show alone, rather than with two other hosts last year. This weeks interval act is his favorite interval act. It’s a very personal opening act. When you host it alone you get the love and the hate, David says. Otherwise, it’s still a lot of fun. He has a great team and hosting is what he wants to do at the moment. He is confident in his job. Moreover, he is realistic, that with more than 3 million viewers, he can’t please everyone.

Hosting or singing

He would love to represent Sweden one day in Eurovision, but at the moment it is all about hosting for him. He would love to host more galas like this or maybe “Allsang på Skansen”. He recorded a lot of music already, but he does not know when he will release it.
We can’t wait to hear more about David in the future! Thank you for your time and the interview.

Dominik Rössing

Hey, I'm Dominik from Germany. Watched my first Eurovision in 2003 and I was in love right away! Attended my first contest in 2011 and every contest since 2013. The same happened with Melodifestivalen. Started watching in 2006 and been to every final since 2017 and try to make it to at least one heat each year, too. After all, Melodifestivalen is the real deal ♥
