Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest

Hungary’s first entry goes back to 1994, after failing to qualify from “Kvalifikacija za Millstreet” in 1993. The fourth place achieved by Friderika Bayer in 1994 remains to be the best Hungarian result at Eurovision. The bad results achieved in the next few years led the country to witdraw from the competition between 1999 and 2004. Since 2005 they have been competiting with the exception of 2006 and 2010. Last year, Hungary was represented by Joci Pápai and his song “Origo”, achieving for the country its third best result. Next Saturday we will discover who will represent the country in Lisbon.
