Martin Almgren and Jessica Andersson win the third semifinal of Melodifestivalen 2018

The third semifinal of Melodifestivalen 2018 took place tonight in Malmö, the host city of Eurovision 2013. Two artists qualified to the final, while two more artists got through to the andra chansen.

  2. Barbi Escobar with “Stark”
  3. Moncho with “Cuba Libre”
  4. Jessica Andersson with “Party Voice”
  5. Kalle Moraeus & Orsa Spelmän with “Min dröm”
  6. Dotter with “Cry”
  7. Méndez with “Everyday”

Kalle Moraeus & Orsa Spelmän finished fifth

Kalle Moraeus & Orsa Spelmän qualified to the second round of the voting, but failed to make it to the andra chansen. Instead, Moncho and Méndez got the second chance.

Dotter and Barbi Escobar were eliminated on the first round. It was also revealed that Dotter finished sixth, while Barbi Escobar finished last on the third semifinal.

Jessica Andersson and Martin Almgren, who qualified to the final, were also the favourites of the XTRA team.

Almost all male final so far

So far five male artists and one female artist have qualified to the final. Last time we had only one female singer in the final was in 2013, when Louise Hoffsten sang “Only the Dead Fish Follow the Stream”.

The andra chansen currently has four female singers and two male singers.
