The Georgian national broadcaster GPB have today confirmed that Iriao will perform the song Sheni Gulistvis in Lisbon.
Since announcing the Jazz trio as their representatives back in December, GPB had been fairly quiet on revealing any details regarding their Eurovision entry. The broadcaster have since broke their silence and revealed the song is being recorded today and will feature a live orchestra.
Entry most likely to be Bilingual
As we previously revealed, the group were keen to record their song entirely in native tongue, although GPB had other thoughts – proposing some english lyrics to appeal to a wider audience.
It is now expected that the finished product will be in Bilingual, with band member Mikheil Javakhishvili stating “we also consider that a large audience of listeners, like Eurovision, is worthy to be addressed in an international language.”
Georgia have been drawn to perform in the second half of the second semi final on Thursday 10th May.
