Unser Lied für Lissabon entries revealed

The German Eurovision entries have been revealed. Each of the artists taking part in Unser Lied für Lissabon released their song officially at midnight in Germany. Time to check these six out!

Officially released now

Throughout the week, several leaks seemed to occur. However, exactly at midnight, the songs had their official premiere on Spotify. Some also had a premiere at YouTube, with voXXclub also releasing an official video for “I Mog Di So” immediately. Ivy Quainoo also released a video, albeit a lyric video for her “House on Fire“.

Below, you can find the list of participants in the German national final. These six will battle it out in Unser Lied für Lissabon. Last week, when revealing the song titles, NDR already told us the names of the composers behind each entry in Unser Lied für Lissabon. That list included previous Eurovision winners and entrants.

  • Michael Schulte – You Let Me Walk Alone
  • voXXclub – I Mog Di So
  • Ivy Quainoo – House on Fire
  • Ryk – You & I
  • Natia Todua – My Own Way
  • Xavier Darcy – Jonah

Thursday: The big day

The six acts will be battling it out on Germany. They will all be hoping to get the ticket to Portugal, but only one of them can win. An international jury will also vote on the acts. The jury will consist of a couple of Eurovision entrants, as well as a lot of music experts from all over Europe. No doubt, each of the acts will hope to improve on Germany’s recent Eurovision luck.

Their luck has been pretty much absent recently. Levina only just escaped last place in 2017. Less lucky were both Jamie-Lee and Ann Sophie in the previous two years: They all finished dead last. Germany’s last top ten result dates back to 2012, when Roman Lob finished eighth in Baku with “Standing Still”.

Unser Lied für Lissabon will take place this Thursday, 22nd February. It will be hosted in Berlin.
