Two wildcard acts announced for Lithuania’s Eurovizijos

On Monday Lithuania’s broadcaster LRT announced that two artists, who already got eliminated, will get second chance at Lithuania’s national selection Eurovizijos. Today it was revealed that Greta Zazza and Ruta Loop received most votes and will compete in the semifinals.

Greta Zazza with most votes

Greta Zazza, who finished seventh in last week’s heat, got the most votes in the poll. With 4484 votes, she was given the first of the two wildcards.
Last year Greta Zazza reached the final of Eurovizijos, but finished last with “Like I Love You”. This year she is competing with “Broken Shadows”. The song is written by Jonas Thander and Charlie Mason, who also co-wrote the Eurovision winning song “Rise Like a Phoenix”.

Close race for the second wildcard

Ruta Loop received the second most votes with 3928 votes in total. Vidas Bareikis got very close by receiving 3730 votes.
Ruta Loop finished only 11th, second to last, in last week’s heat by receiving three points from the jury but none from the televote. She still managed to get enough votes to get back to the contest. She is competing with the song “Positive Thoughts”.

I started watching Eurovision back in 2006, when I was only 10 and couldn't stay up to see Lordi winning. I attended my first contest in 2013 in Malmö. I'm studying journalism and I love music — you will probably never see me without my headphones on.
