Lisbon 2018

Laura Rizzotto wins Supernova!

Tonight saw the final of Supernova take place in Latvia. Eight entries had managed to qualify from the semi-final stage, and in the final they competed for the right to represent Latvia at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. After an exciting vote, Laura Rizzotto came out on top of the list, hence winning the Latvian ticket to Lisbon in May.
Laura, who qualified from the third semi-final, will perform the song  “Funny Girl” on the Eurovision stage.

Tonight’s line-up

Tonight’s final consisted of the following eight acts.

  1. Sudden Lights – “Just Fine”
  2. Ritvars – “Who’s Counting?”
  3. MADARA – “Esamība”
  4. Liene Greifāne – “Walk the Talk”
  5. Lauris Valters – “Lovers Bliss”
  6. Edgars Kreilis – “Younger Days”
  7. Laura Rizzotto – “Funny Girl”
  8. Markus Riva – “This Time”

Judges, interviews and an alternative studio

After performing their entry, the singers recieved feedback from the four judges. Then they were interviewed by Justs. We also made regular visits into an “alternative” studio, where there was a lot of Latvian going on. This happened during commercial breaks. Next year, could we just watch the commercials? Even the Beaver would be an improvement to this…or actually not!
