RTVSLO reveals the full results of Slovenia’s EMA 2018

In order to keep things transparent, Slovenia’s National broadcaster, RTVSLO, reveals the full vote breakdown of EMA 2018.

This will be the second year in a row of BQL winning the over the hearts of the Slovenian public, but failing the leave the biggest impression on the panel of music experts. The full set of results, both from the juries and the televote were made public during the run of the show. However, a detailed report as to how the winner was determined was not.

The Juries

• Jury of Music Artists – Robi Pikl, Nikola Sekulović, Miha Guštin – Gušti , Neisha and Boštjan Grabnar.
• Radio Jury – Žiga Klančar, Blaž Maljevac, Aida Kurtović, Gregor Stermec and Marjan Kokol.
• Television Jury – Mario Galunič, Emi Den Baruca, Matic Zadravec, Klavdija Kopina and Urška Žnidaršič.
• Music Performers and Singers – Maja Keuc – Amaya, Nuša Derenda, Hannah Mancini, Darja Švajger and Omar Naber.
• International Jury – Dami Im, Kristan Kostov, Bojana Stamenov, Emmelie de Forest and Aminata.

A total of 15,464 votes were cast by the Slovenian public, the full televote breakdown:

However, the results of Saturday’s show were determined through a split vote between the professional jury panels and the public vote. Despite winning the televote, BQL’s low jury score truly marked their chances of winning EMA 2018. Remarkably, winning the televote in Slovenia often seems to be a bad omen.
