Saara Aalto will sing “Monsters” in Lisbon for Finland

Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2018: Saara Aalto, took place tonight, in order to select the song that Saara Aalto will sing in Lisbon in May. After a fun-filled show, it has been confirmed that Saara will sing “Monsters”!

The songs that competed tonight:

  1. Monsters 88 + 95 = 183
  2. Domino 84 + 75 = 159
  3. Queens 68 + 70 = 138

How “Monsters” was selected

Saara’s song was selected by a mixture of international jury and public vote. “Monsters” vote the jury vote and “Monsters” was also public’s favourite.
The jury gave “Queens” 68 points, “Domino” 84 points and their favourite “Monsters” 88 points. “Monsters” and “Domino” both got four 12 points from the juries.
The winner song is written by Linnea Deb, Joy Deb, Ki Fitzgerald and Saara Aalto herself.

What else happened?

Next to Saara, Spice Girls legend Melanie C performed her song “I Turn to You”. The host Krista Siegfrids opened the show with a smashing performance — and sampled Suzy’s “Quero Ser Tua”!
Finland’s Eurovision 1994 representative CatCat also performed together with Krista Siegfrids. Krista said it was her childhood dream to perform with the duo.
