Well golly gee, mothertruckers! “Lie To Me” spent some time in a washing machine recently, getting some slightly changed lyrics in the process. It’s now ready for ANY basic cable TV station.
Weโve discussed this in the past, but if you didnโt know by now, then the EBU has pretty strict rules against using profanity at Eurovision.
The original version of โLie To Meโ had some…colourful parts, so some spring cleaning had to be done. Gone are the F-bombs, now replaced with words like “greedies” and good old fashioned “damn”. It’s not quite poetry, but Netta already took motha-bucka, so it was going to be hard to beat that.
Those worried about the song losing some of its personality, can rest easy. There are still PLENTY of suggestive lyrics and bop-whop-a-lu boping going on, whatever that may be. Also camels, because who doesn’t love camels?
And how is it doing in the odds now?
Still hanging in there at number three. Czech Republic doesn’t exactly have a glowing history at Eurovision, only managing to make it to the finals once in 2016 and even then ending up 25th. So far though, 2018 looks VERY promising for them.
We will find out how Mikolas does in just a few months, for now you can just listen toย the new version above,ย itโs f….reakin awesome! If you don’t believe us, just ask Alekseev.ย
You know how this works! Tell us what you think of the new version. Are you fine with the slight changes? Do you agree with the odds? How do you clean up a puddle?
