Yesterday on 22nd of March one of the first artists at Eurovision had a birthday. Today a fellow countryman from Italy has a birthday along with an Austrian guy. Both of them performed as a part of a duo. Franco Battiato and Michael Scheickl were born on this day.
Franco Battiato, 73
Italy selected the duo Franco and Alice to go on their behalf at Eurovision in 1984. They performed the song “I treni di Tozeur” in Luxembourg. The duo got 70 points at the show, therefore reaching the 5th place.
Michael Scheiclk, 61
Austria picked the duo Mess to be their representative at Eurovision in 1982. Mess was formed by Michael and Elisabeth ‘Lizzi’ Engstler. They sang the song “Sonntag” in interesting matching outfits. The song got 57 points, which means it placed 9th out of 18 acts.
We all here at escXtra would like to wish these two birthday guys the best on their day!
