Yesterday we celebrated two Eurovision birthday boys, today we only have one. However, we also have three birthday girls, so the total number of Eurostars to celebrate today is four! Two of them are even born the same year, but they’re not twins. One of them participated in 2003, while the other performed her song “Be My Guest”. We give you Gaitana!
Rita represented Israel at the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest in Zagreb. There she presented a great performance of her song “Shara Barkhovot”. However, she only finished in a rather disappointing 18th place.
Gaitana represented Ukraine at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. In the second semi-final she gave us a wonderfully colorful performance of her song “Be My Guest”.She finished 8th in the semi, thus qualifying for the grand final. On the Saturday night she finished 15th.
Jostein Hasselgård, 39
Jostein represented Norway at the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest in Riga. He performed the beautiful piano ballad “I’m Not Afraid To Move On”, not just singing, but also playing the piano. He finished in 4th place, thus giving Norway a (well deserved) 4th place.
Lindita represented Albania at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv. She performed the song “World” in the first semi-final, finishing 14th. Therefore she did not get to perform again in the grand final.
All of us here at escXtra wish today’s four Eurovision birthday stars the happiest of celebrations!
