Another Skandal in Sweden – Molly’s song surfaces online!

You’d have thought the recent Anna Book scandal in Sweden was enough Melfest drama for one year.. . Nope, it look’s like another one might be brewing fast as fans of the ever popular Swedish selection made a discovery earlier tonight.

Molly Sanden will make her anticipated return to the Melodifestivalen stage in a fortnight with her entry ‘Youniverse’ and is currently highly tipped to win the whole thing according to the latest Bookmakers odds. However, it look’s like a crisis has arisen as a 30 second snippet of the song is currently publicly accessible on Amazon Music.
SVT have a strict rule in place in that all participating entries must not be released, performed or previewed prior to the show, with the broadcaster usually uploading 2:30 versions a few hours before each semi final. It look’s like this embargo has been breached, albeit accidentally and completely out of the hands of Molly herself.
Do we expect SVT to disqualify Molly? No, of course not. This has in fact happened several times before, most noticeably in 2010 which saw snippets of several entries leaked online weeks before the acts were due to perform. As this was a distribution error, SVT did not issue any sanctions to the artists affected and we can most likely expect Molly to receive the same treatment.
If you’re quick, you can listen to the snippet of Molly’s “Youniverse’ here:
