Hungary and Kazakhstan to not broadcast Eurovision 2022

As we wait in anticipation for Semi 1 of Eurovision 2022, it has been announced that neither the Hungarian broadcaster MTVA nor the Kazakh broadcaster Khabar Agency will be broadcasting the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

Interestingly though, neither network have made the reason for their non broadcast public.

Hungary last competed in 2019, but after they withdrew ahead of the 2020 contest they have not broadcast the contest since.

Kazakhstan however are in a different situation though. They are not a full member of the EBU yet, but by invitation each year get to compete at Junior Eurovision.

Now it is not clear whether this news that they are not broadcasting the adult contest will impact them at Junior Eurovision this year, but we wait with anticipation to find out.
