Eleni Foureira’s ‘Fuego’ certified gold in Spain

Spain's got the fire as Cypriot entry goes gold

Eleni Foureira has much to celebrate this weekend as her Eurovision entry ‘Fuego’ has just been certified gold in Spain.

“Yeah Yeah España! 🇪🇸 “

The news was revealed this week by El portal de Música, the official charts regulator of Spain. Fuego has gained a significant following in the country since the contest, reaching the Top 33 in sales and therefore receiving its gold status.

Shortly before her sizzling performance at the contest, Eleni recorded a Spanish version of the song which along with the original, is also receiving substantial airplay across Western Europe.

This weekend, Eleni plays two shows in Madrid as part of her summer promo tour. Despite originally scheduling one show in the capital, a second was added due to the overwhelming demand.

Although we didn’t get to see Aitana & Ana Guerra in Lisbon, their national final track Lo Malo has been a chart success in the country.  Since the selection in February, the track has sold 120,000 copies and was certified 3 x Platinum.
