Latvian broadcaster LTV has released a document regarding next year’s national final.

Since 2015, Latvia has used the national final Supernova to choose their Eurovision entry. The results have been varied: in 2015, Aminata won with “Love Injected” and went on to place 6th in the Grand Final at Eurovision. Since 2016, however, Latvia has failed to qualify for the final every single year. Just this year, Sudden Lights finished 11th in the first semi-final with their song “Aija”:

But the recent slew of defeats do not seem to discourage the LTV, who just announced that they will continue with Supernova for 2024.

Document outlines rules and procedures

The document that LTV has released states that applications for the contest runs from September 12th to December 1st. Afterwards, a jury from LTV will look over the applications and choose the finalists based on different factors. The chosen acts for the national final will then be announced in January 2024 with the show itself being held in February. By then, we will know who Latvia has chosen to represent them at Eurovision.

The contestants must all be of Latvian nationality, but the song itself can be written by songwriters from any country.
