Earlier this year, it was announced that Italy’s Eurovision 2018 representatives Ermal Meta and Fabrizio Moro were to donate the copyright proceeds from “Non Mi Avete Fatto Niente” to EMERGENCY. The organization promotes peace and respect for all human rights. On September 8, Ermal and Fabrizio performed on behalf of EMERGENCY.
What is EMERGENCY?
EMERGENCY was founded in Milan, Italy by Gino Strada in 1994. EMERGENCY is an independent organization. They provide free medical and surgical care to victims of wars, poverty and anti-personnel mines. Moreover, their care covers many countries including Afghanistan, Iraq and Uganda.
In addition, since January 2018, EMERGENCY has been an official partner of the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Office (ECHO).
Many donations were made
Not only did Meta and Moro donate to EMERGENCY, but their fans were also at hand to support the organization. For instance, the Twitter account @MMTranslate_ (Ermal Meta and Fabrizio Moro Translation Page) set up a fundraiser. This gave both Italian and international fans the opportunity to donate to EMERGENCY. In total, they raised 155 Euros.
Some familiar faces
On the night, Ermal and Fabrizio performed a few of their own songs separately before joining forces again to sing “Non mi avete fatto niente”. Sanremo artists Fiorella Mannoia and Nek were also present in order to support EMERGENCY.

Ermal and Fabrizio in Eurovision
After winning this year’s Sanremo Music Festival, Ermal and Fabrizio accepted the right to represent Italy in Eurovision. They entered with their song “Non mi avete fatto niente” (“You haven’t done anything to me”). It was written and composed by themselves alongside Andrea Febo. Because Italy is part of the Big 5, they advanced straight to the Grand Final. Overall, they finished 5th with 308 points.
