The organisers of Eurovision in Concert have just announced the date for their 2019 concert. The eleventh edition of the event will take place on Saturday, 6th April.
A household name
The Eurovision in Concert event has become a household name in the Eurovision world. Ever since 2009, the organisers have attempted to bring as many Eurovision entrants to Amsterdam as possible. Some years, over thirty acts attend the event. In previous years, many winners have attended the event, such as Conchita Wurst, Måns Zelmerlöw and Netta Barzilai.
This past April, the tenth anniversary edition of the event took place. The organisers decided to move away from the Melkweg venue in the centre of Amsterdam. Instead, they opted for the bigger venue AFAS Live. The new venue could host up to 6,000 guests. For the eleventh edition, the organisers have not yet announced the venue. Last year’s choice was presented as an anniversary choice only, but the success may have convinced the organisers to stick with the new venue.
Preview parties galore
Eurovision in Concert is one of the oldest preview parties in Europe. Over the past few years, we’ve seen many other cities join in and host their own events. Aside from Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam, notable other events include the Moscow Preparty, Israel Calling in Tel Aviv, an event lasting a good few days and of course the London Eurovision Party, of which ESCXTRA.com has been the media partner for years.
