Macedonian broadcaster MRT has confirmed to eurovoix.com that Macedonia’s entry for the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be completed by the end of this month. Nevertheless, the title and release date of the song has yet to be confirmed.
“Extraordinary singing abilities”
Last month, MRT internally selected 13-year-old Marija Spasovska as Macedonia’s representative for this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest taking place in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk on November 25th.
Commitment to the contest
Marija will become Macedonia’s 14th representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Indeed, only Belarus and the Netherlands have participated on more occasions, appearing in all sixteen editions of the contest including the 2018 contest later this year.
F.Y.R. Macedonia’s best result at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest came courtesy of Rosica Kulakova & Dimitar Stojmenovski and Bobi Andonov’s fifth-place finishes in 2007 and 2008 respectively. Last year in Tbilisi, Mina Blažev gave her nation their second consecutive 12th place finish with Dancing Through Life, matching Martija Stanojković’s placing the previous year in Valletta.
