Sennek focuses full-time on music as she quits her position at IKEA

Laura Groeseneken, known in the Eurovision world as Sennek, represented Belgium in the big Eurovision stage in Lisbon. For a while, she divided her time between music and working as a visual merchandiser at IKEA. However, in a recent interview she revealed that she now resigned from IKEA to work full time in music.

Now looking for a record label

Earlier this month, Sennek appeared in a program on Belgian TV called  “Van Gilst & Gasten”  and revealed some details of her post-Eurovision months and future plans. In fact, she said that soon after the contest, she headed to France to attend a song-writing camp that lasted four months. She also added that a very good song came from it and now she is looking for a record label saying:

I wrote one song, just one, but it’s a really good one! It was great, we have some really good songs ready. But now I’m looking for a good team to work with and a super cool record label. People can call me now, I’m ready. It was great in France, in a rural area with Maxime, the producer I worked with for Eurovision.”

After returning from France, she decided that it was time to resign from her successful position as a visual merchandiser at IKEA to focus on music. She will reveal the song she wrote as soon as she signs to a record label. Hopefully very soon!

Sennek at Eurovision

In September 2017, Belgian’s broadcaster (VRT) internally selected Sennek to be the country’s 60th representative at Eurovision. In Lisbon, she sang her mysterious entry “A Matter Of Time“. Despite quickly becoming a fan favourite and being tipped to give Belgium its 4th consecutive Top 10 placing, she unfortunately failed to qualify. In fact, she placed 12th overall with 91 points, earning 9th place with the jury but 16th with the televoters.

Are you looking forward to more music from Sennek? Would you like to see her again at Eurovision someday? Did you like “A Matter of Time”?
