The confirmations for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest continue to roll in ahead of the expected deadline for applications in October. Now, Croatian broadcaster HRT has confirmed that Croatia will be taking part in next year’s contest in Tel Aviv.
Another internal selection?
Indeed, the news was revealed by eurosong.hr who received a statement from the Croatian national broadcaster. Nevertheless, no further details regarding their 2019 selection process have been revealed. Since Croatia returned in 2016, HRT has internally selected their artists and songs each year.
Croatia will be crazy for a qualification
This year, Croatia selected Franka as their representative with the song Crazy. Unfortunately, Franka became the first Croatian representative not to qualify for the grand final since 2013. Overall, Crazy finished 17th in the first semi-final. Furthermore, Croatia placed 17th in the first semi-final televote and 13th in the jury vote.
The Balkan nation’s best results remain two 4th place finishes in 1996 and 1999. In these contests, Croatia was represented by Maja Blagdan and Doris Dragović respectively.
