Tel Aviv 2019

Dora to be used to select Croatian act in 2019!

Kazimir Bačić the Director General of HRT has confirmed to Jurtarnji that Croatia will use ‘Dora’ in order to select it’s Eurovision entry for Tel Aviv.

A series of major projects in Entertainment programs

During his interview with Jutarnji, Bačić has confirmed that Dora will be one of the projects that HRT will be working on, along with other big entertainment projects such as “The Voice”.

It is anticipated that Dora will be returning in 2019, with the national selection being hosted in ‘Opatija’.

A return to the National Final format

Between 1993 and 2011, Croatia selected their Eurovision entry using “Dora”. However, after a couple of non-qualifications in 2010 and 2011, Croatia decided to stop using Dora and internally selected its representatives in 2012 and since their return to the contest in 2016.

Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018

This year, Croatia selected Franka as their representative with the song “Crazy“. Unfortunately, Franka became the first Croatian representative not to qualify for the grand final since 2013. Overall, Crazy finished 17th in the first semi-final. Furthermore, Croatia placed 17th in the first semi-final televote and 13th in the jury vote.

Are you excited by the fact that Croatia will bring back Dora to select it’s Eurovision entry next year?. Would you prefer if they continue to select their entries internally?.  Let us know your opinions and thoughts below or at social media @ESCXTRA
