2018 Finnish Eurovision representative Saara Aalto has always had a special relationship with Disney’s Frozen. Saara was the voice of Anna in the Finnish version of one of the decade’s biggest movies. Now, she’s going to become an ice princess in her own right as The Sun reveals that The X Factor UK runner-up will take part in the next series of ITV’s Dancing on Ice!
Airs in January
This week, British broadcaster ITV has been revealing the celebrities that will take to the ice in the eleventh series of their hit show Dancing on Ice. While not yet officially announced by ITV, The Sun has exclusively revealed that Saara will be amongst the new Dancing on Ice celebrity line-up! With training to begin in the next few weeks, the live shows will begin in January.
Saara, who rose to fame in the UK after finishing second in the 2016 series of The X Factor UK, will be joined by the likes of former Westlife singer Brian McFadden, Coronation Street actress Jane Danson, actor and comedian Richard Blackwood, The Only Way is Essex star Gemma Collins and The Pussycat Dolls singer Melody Thornton.
Not the first Eurovision star to take part!
The Finnish Eurovision star will follow in the footsteps of Bucks Fizz star and 1981 Eurovision Song Contest winner Cheryl Baker who finished ninth in the tenth series of the show earlier this year.
A “source” told The Sun the reason for Saara’s casting in the show:
After Jake Quickenden won the show last year, bosses were keen to sign up another X Factor star.

They’re sure Saara’s showmanship and bubbly personality will translate to the rink and are delighted she said yes.
Third time lucky
It was third time lucky for Saara as she finally earned the opportunity to represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest this year, in Lisbon. After narrowly missing out in both 2011 and 2016, Finnish broadcaster YLE internally selected Saara.
After a national song selection, Monsters became the Finnish song for Lisbon and gave the nation their first Eurovision qualification since 2014. Saara finished in 25th place with 46 points. She has since reiterated her desire to return to the contest once again in the future.
