Inspirational and motivational
Champion leaked ahead of its official release, appearing on YouTube amongst other websites in the last few hours. It’s a powerful song with powerful vocals and a powerful message and sure to inspire viewers all around Europe and beyond!
You can be anyone if you believe it
Lyrics from the chorus of Champion
You can overcome don’t stop believing
That you are enough you can be a champion, be a champion!
A fourth internal selection
Melbourne-born Jael was internally selected by Blink TV’s head of delegation, Paul Clarke. She follows in the footsteps of Bella Paige, Alexa Curtis and Isabella Clarke who were internally selected to represent Australia at the 2015, 2016 and 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contests respectively.
According to tvtonight.com.au, Jael wrote her first song at the age of four. Furthermore, she won the national talent show quest Fast Track Talent Showcase for three years running!
Aiming for gold?
So far, Australia has improved their Junior Eurovision results year-on-year. In 2015, Bella Paige placed eighth in Sofia with My Girls. A year later, We Are earned Alexa Curtis a fifth-place finish. Then, last year in Tbilisi, Isabella Clarke gave Australia their first podium finish after placing third with Speak Up.
Australia will be hoping that Jael can score their country that elusive first victory and become their first Junior Eurovision champion!
