Serbia’s Junior Eurovision entry “Svet” released!

About a month ago, a professional jury picked Bojana Radovanović to be Serbia’s entrant in Minsk. Today, RTS released her song “Svet” (World) to the public.

10th Serbian entry

13-year-old Bojana Radovanović will sing the song “Svet” (World) in Minsk next November 25th. The song is a composition of Marija Marić. Listen to the song here:

A professional jury internally selected Bojana to be Serbia’s 10th representative at Junior Eurovision after an open call to submit entries and artist names. Bojana is an experienced performer and competed in several national and regional contests in Serbia and doing rather well in them!

Serbia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Serbia first participated in Junior Eurovision in 2006 and has since appeared in 9 contests, missing the competition three times between 2011 and 2013. This year will mark the country’s 10th appearance in the competition. So far, their best result is the 3rd place achieved twice in 2007 and 2010. Last year, Irina Brodić and Jana Paunović represented the country with the song “Ceo svet je naš”. They placed 10th out of the 16 participants with 92 points. Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018

Belarus’s capital Minsk will be the host of the 2018 edition of Junior Eurovision. This is the second time the event takes place in the city, that previously hosted it in 2010. A record-breaking 20 countries will participate in Minsk on November 25. Wales and Kazakhstan will both make a debut with Kazakhstan participating for the first time to any Eurovision related event. Furthermore,  the contest will also feature three returning countries: France, that last participated in 2004, Azerbaijan that last participated in 2013 and Israel that last participated in 2016. Unfortunately,  Cyprus instead confirmed its withdrawal from the competition.
