Armenia: 2019 Participation confirmed!

Despite failing to qualify for the second time in the 2018 contest, Armenia seems ready to get back on track! Earlier today, it was revealed that Armenia will participate in Eurovision 2019!

Armenian Broadcaster confirms participation

According to fellow Eurovision website ESCToday, Armenia’s broadcaster AMPTV has confirmed that the country will participate in the next Eurovision Song Contest! These news bring the confirmed countries to a total of 40! As we previously reported, the countries will have until sometime in October to confirm their participation in Tel Aviv.

No information on the selection method yet

The national broadcaster only confirmed its intention to participate in the next contest. However, it said nothing regarding the selection method of the entry. In the last two years, the national final called “Depi Evratesil” was used to select the Armenian entry.

Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest

Armenia first participated at Eurovision back in 2006, finishing 8th and participated every year since, except in 2012. Over the years, Armenia participated a total of 12 times, qualifying to the final on 10 occasions. They reached their best result, 4th place, twice, in 2008 and 2014, with Sirusho and Aram MP3. In 2018, Armenia was represented by Sevak Khanagyan and the song “Qami”. He finished 15th in the first Semi-Final, with 79 points.
