Junior Eurovision 2018 is just over a month away and today Georgian broadcaster released their entry, sung by Tamar Edilashvili “Your Voice”.
Song picked by expert jury
13-year old Tamar will represent Georgia in Minsk, hoping to win the contest for the fourth time for her country. You can now listen to her song “Your Voice“!
The song “Your Voice” is a composition of Sopho Toroshelidze with lyrics by Aleksandre Lortkipanidze. A 6-member jury featuring Eurovision alumns picked it among 22 possible entries. In fact, the members of the jury were:
- Davit Evgenidze (composer)
- Sopho Khalvashi (singer, represented Georgia at Eurovision 2007)
- Nodiko Tatishvili (singer, represented Georgia at Eurovision 2013 together with Sopho Gelovani)
- Zaza Orashvili (director)
- Manana Morchiladze (vocal teacher)
- Lana Kutateladze (head of the development of the project of the First Channel)
Georgia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Georgia debuted at Junior Eurovision in 2007, represented by Mariam Romelashvili who came 4th with her entry “Odelia Ranuni“. The country has enjoyed a series of good results at Junior Eurovision, winning three times, in 2008 with Bzikebi, in 2011 with Candy and 2016 with Mariam Mamadashvili. Actually, with 3 victories they hold the record for most wins at the contest. They also came second twice, in 2012 and 2017. Last year, Georgia’s capital Tbilisi was the host of Junior Eurovision, the first time the country hosted a Eurovision-related event. Their representative, Grigol Kipshidze ended up in second place only 4 points shy of victory.
