A day ahead of the official release date, the 2018 French Junior Eurovision Song Contest entry has leaked online. France 2 internally selected The Voice Kids winner Angélina Nava to represent the nation with the song Jamais sans toi.
An early leak
Yesterday it was revealed that the French entry was due to be officially released tomorrow, October 15th. Nevertheless, this afternoon the song leaked on various social media platforms. You can check out the song by clicking here! You may have to log in to listen to the song, but this can be achieved by connecting through Facebook. It is expected that the official video clip will be revealed tomorrow.
Youthful yet professional
Angélina, who rose to fame after winning The Voice Kids in France last year, was announced as the French participant for Minsk by the EBU on the official Junior Eurovision website when she was added to the list of participants on France’s country page on the website.
Second ever appearance for France
Prior to this year, France only had one Junior Eurovision appearance to their name. Thomas Pontier represented France on their debut in the Norwegian city of Lillehammer in 2004 with the song Si on voulait bien. It was a successful debut for France as they finished in sixth place with 78 points.
Unfortunately, French Junior Eurovision broadcaster at the time, France 3, decided to withdraw from the contest due to a lack of motivation to compete. Now, following a renewed interest in the adult contest, France 2 are back for the junior version too!
