RTSH announce ‘Festivali i Këngës 57’ participants

The twenty two participants taking part in this year’s Albanian national selection have been revealed by RTSH.  The three night selection will once again take place in late December.

22 songs in the running

RTSH confirmed both the performers and song titles during a segment in tonight’s evening news bulletin.  The full list of competing entries is as follows.

  • Eranda Libohova – 100 Pyetje
  • Gjergj Leka – Besoj
  • Gr.Alar Band – Dashuria Nuk Mjafton
  • Jonida Maliqi – Ktheju Tokes
  • Kelly – A Me Ndjen
  • Klint Collaku – Me Jete
  • Klodiana Vata – Mbremje E Pafund
  • Kujtim Prodani – Babela
  • Lidia Lufi – Rrefehem

Noteable returnees include Dilan Reka, who participated in both the 2016 & 2017 selection with the songs Buzëqesh and Mos harro.  Orgesa Zaimi has also participated twice before. In 2015 she entered with  Një shishe në oqean and returned to the festival last year with the song Ngrije zërin.

When is the Albanian selection taking place?

As well as announcing the list of entrants, RTSH has confirmed the date for this year’s festival.  The 57th edition of Festivali i Këngës will begin with two nights of semi finals, taking place on Thursday 20th & Friday 21st December. The grand final is penciled in for Saturday 22nd December

Albania at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest

Albania was represented at this year’s contest by FIK 56 winner Eugent Bushpepa.  After 2 consecutive non qualifications for the country, his entry Mall brought the nation back to the grand final, placing 11th overall.
