Ukraine has released its official video for Darina Krasnovetska’s entry, “Say Love”, for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018!
Last month, we reported that Ukraine had selected Darina Krasnovetska as its representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018. Due to the last minute nature of Ukraine confirming their participation, there was no televised national final to determine who would fly the flag to Minsk. Instead, UA:PBC set up an online national final, including voting from the public and a jury.
The music video focuses solely on Darina, who is alone on stage holding a megaphone. Could this possibly be a hint as what audiences can expect to see in her performance next month?
Ukraine in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Ukraine first participated at Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, and has participated every year since. Much like the adult contest, Ukraine has enjoyed some great successes including a win in 2012 and two runner-up finishes in 2008 and 2013 respectively. Of those three podium finishes, two of them were achieved by members of the Petryk family! Anastacia won with her haunting song “Nebo“, while Viktoria’s energetic “Matrosy” came second in Limassol.
Last year, Anastasiya Baginska’s solid performance in Tblisi, with “Don’t Stop” finished a very respectable in 7th place. Ukraine had initially planned to withdraw from this year’s show but later confirmed they would be present in Minsk 2018.
