Following up the Eurovision smash hit ‘Fuego’ with a Spanglish reggaeton banger, Eleni Foureira releases her latest single ‘Tomame’.
Tomame back to the summer
Despite what you’ve heard on Game of Thrones, winter is not coming just yet! Whilst many artists might be in the studio preparing their Christmas jingles, Eleni Foureira is here to remind us there’s still time for an Indian summer. After surprising the fans with the announcement on social media, ‘Tomame’ has finally been released.
Ordinarily Eleni is known for her traditional Greek pop anthems. However ‘Tomame’ or ‘Take Me’ in English, sees a continuation of what ‘Fuego’ started in transcending the international music scene. Giving a playful retelling of a passionate holiday fling with a guy in Ibiza, who may have broken a few hearts before. A situation many can relate to. This time blending a fusion of English verses and Spanish chorus, with the reggaeton beats that have become a familiar feature of the biggest music releases over the past year. Thus the new single will appeal to all of Eleni’s new English and Spanish fans alike.

Suave suave otra vez
Once more Eleni has teamed up with the popular writer and producer Alex Papaconstantinou, otherwise known as Alex P. Within the Eurovision family, Alex is most known for ‘Yassou Maria’, ‘Always’, ‘La La Love’ and of course ‘Fuego’. Outside of this, Alex has achieved worldwide chart success with the likes of Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Rowland, Snoop Dogg and Nicki Minaj.

Setting temperatures soaring on the Athens metro, the video sees Eleni bring her sultry choreography to the Syntagma Station. Fellow travellers are so in awe of the Greek-Albanian sirens moves they appear to have passed out from her beauty! We don’t recommend trying Eleni’s new approach to travel, although surely the sexiest coach trip you’ll find in Greece.
Fue-going up the charts!
Besides the new single, there is still a ‘Fuego’ burning up across Europe. The hit Eurovision runner-up, which sizzled in Lisbon, has topped both the LOS40 and radio airplay charts in Spain. As well as this, Eleni revealed this week that ‘Fuego’ has been certified gold in Sweden and Norway. This means it has sold over 15,000 copies in both countries. Along with its platinum certification in Spain. Meanwhile on Spotify it has now surpassed over 40 million global streams. Next week Eleni will return to her new second home, to perform at the LOS40 Music Awards in Madrid. An opportunity for a first live performance of ‘Tomame’, and perhaps it won’t be long before it follows in the chart footsteps of ‘Fuego’.
