Alex Christensen swings with Anastacia and Melanie C on new 90s album

His Eurovision adventure may not have been the biggest success in his career, but his new album certainly is! Alex Christensen, part of Alex Swings Oscar Sings back in 2009, has just released his new album: Classical 90s Dance 2.

Anastacia, Melanie C and others

The album consists of fourteen covers of hits from the 1990s. On most of the tracks, the German producer has called for help from various vocalists. For example, Britain’s Got Talent laureates Bars & Melody have covered Eiffel 65’s classic “Blue (Da Ba Dee)“.

Besides Bars & Melody, Alex C has also asked two icons from the late 90s and early 00s to help out with the album. Both Anastacia and Melanie C feature on multiple songs. Others singers to feature are Pietro Lombardi, Beymarie and Danish singer Medina. Melanie C leads the way on the remake of Daft Punk’s 1997 hit “Around The World” and Right Said Fred’s “Don’t Talk Just Kiss”. Anastacia does the same for Real McCoy’s “Another Night”. Together with SKI, she also features on Culture Beat’s “Mr. Vain”.

Back to Moscow

Alex Christensen represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow. There, he worked together with American singer Oscar Loya to fly his country’s flag. Under the name of Alex Swings Oscar Sings, the duo brought “Miss Kiss Kiss Bang” to the Eurovision stage. Burlesque dancer Dita von Teese accompanied the German act, but it didn’t bring them much luck. They eventually finished in 20th place. After just one album, the duo split up.

Below you can see Alex C’s “Around The World”, the song he did with the Berlin Orchestra and Melanie C:

When I'm not doing Eurovision stuff, you should be able to find me teaching German to kids... And cheering on everything and everyone Greek, pretty much. Pame Ellada!
