Lordi poses for Vogue Scandinavia

The Finnish Eurovision champions made their modelling debut in the latest issue of the fashion magazine

Finnish metal band Lordi graced the Eurovision stage in Athens in 2006 with “Hard Rock Hallelujah”, securing Finland their first win in the competition. Since then, the band has gone through a change in members and released a bunch of music. The band is currently touring with their newest album, Screen Writers Guild, a movie-themed album which came out in March 2023. But between the touring, the band recently took the time to do some modelling for Vogue Scandinavia, and the lead singer, Mr. Lordi, gave an interview.

Animal lovers

According to the article, all the band members of Lordi are huge animal lovers, Mr. Lordi himself owning a dog and 10 snakes. The band requested that the bags they modeled be made of vegan leather as to not harm any animals in the creation proces. The band has been collaborating with PETA for a while, and they use cruelty-free makeup and materials to create their elaborate costumes.

Eurovision

When asked about the band’s Eurovision victory, Mr. Lordi said the following:

“I don’t have a competitive bone in me. And Eurovision wasn’t necessarily something the band was dreaming about doing”.

He later stated that “it was a lot of fun, and it was great that they asked us to go”.
