Following her triumphant and long-awaited participation in Lisbon 2018, it appears that Eurofans cannot get enough of Eleni Foureira. Her career has gone from strength-to-strength since the contest. In light of this, it is rumoured by Greek magazine TV Ethnos that Eleni will be bringing her fuego back to the ESC stage very soon.
There are currently no details regarding whether she would perform at either of the semi finals or the grand final on May 25th. Either way, it would be an unprecedented move for a host broadcaster to bring a runner-up act from the previous year to perform at their contest. These coveted slots are usually reserved for native artists to show off the country’s music scene. We won’t talk about Justin Timberlake…
Fuego continues to spread across Europe
The decision (if true), wouldn’t be entirely surprising, however. Since reaching second place for the first time ever in the history of Cyprus at Eurovision, ‘Fuego’ has spread across Europe. Just recently, it topped the Spanish LOS40 chart and surpassed over 105 million combined views and streams across YouTube and Spotify. Eleni also recently performed a special remix of the song at the LOS40 Music Awards in Madrid.
Eleni is currently on a successful and expansive European tour, having already performed at 35 venues including KOKO in London. She will continue the tour with shows in Greece, Cyprus and, notably, Israel. If that wasn’t enough, she is also currently preparing for her guest appearance in the talent show “La Banda” in Greece.
She also recently released her latest single, Tómame, the video for which you can watch below:
