After it was announced that the Montengrin broadcaster opened their submissions, the Head of Delegation has revealed further details regarding their selection process.
Five singers for Montevizija 2019
According to the Head of Delegation, Nataša Baranin, the national final will include five singers, who will be selected by an expert jury panel. After the five singers are selected, the public will decide the winner during the final of Montevizija 2019, similarly to last year’s selection.
As it was already announced, songwriters and composers can submit their songs to the broadcaster. Whereas, the submissions are still underway, once they are closed the submitted songs will be evaluated with the following criteria:
- Composition – Up to 50 points
- Lyrics – Up to 30 points
- Production potential of the composition – Up to 20 points
Montenegro in Eurovision
Montenegro made their debut appearance back in 2007 with Stevan Faddy and the song ‘Ajde kroči’. Montenegro’s first final was in 2014 with Sergej Ćetković and ‘Moj svijet’, which managed to place 19th. Meanwhile, their best result came the following year, with Knez and ‘Adio’, which placed 13th in the final.
Last year, Vanja Radovanović represented the country with the song ‘Inje’, placing only 16th in the semi-final.
