Emma Muscat and Blas Cantó release ‘ La stessa lingua’

A happy, easygoing and bilingual song to add to our summer playlist!

Eurovision 2022′ s Maltese representative Emma Muscat hasn’t been taking time off since participating in the Second Semi-Final in Turin just two months ago. This Monday we were all pleasantly surprised by the news of a collaboration between Muscat and another Eurovision alumni, Spain 2020/2021′ s Blas Cantó. Both artists announced the news of their single ‘La stessa lingua’ (the same language) happily on social media.

‘ La stessa lingua’

The lyrics of the song describe a passionate love between two people who might be in different cities, miles apart, but are still able to connect through the language of love. The first verse of the song, sung by Emma, is in her native Italian. Halfway through the chorus, the song switches from Italian to Spanish. What a pretty twist! Blas’ verse is then sung in Spanish, and both languages keep connecting beautifully in every chorus, which are sung by Emma and Blas together. It really embodies the message and title of the song!

La stessa lingua is written by Raige, Artemedra, Blas Cantó, Cheope Cino and Marco Colaveccio. It is produced by Cino.

Emma Muscat and Blas Cantó in Eurovision

Emma Muscat represented Malta in Turin during this year’s edition of the contest. After replacing her winning national final song from ‘Out Of Sight’ to ‘ I Am What I Am’, she performed during the Second Semi-Final on May 12th. She received 47 points, therefore placing at the 16th place in the Semi-Final.

Blas Cantó was set to represent Spain in 2020 with the song ‘Universo’ before the cancellation of the contest due to covid. Fortunately, he was able to participate the next year in Rotterdam with his powerful ballad ‘ Voy A Quedarme’. The song received 6 points and placed at the 24th place in the Grand Final.
