WATCH: Little Mix live react to Margaret’s “Cool Me Down”

Arguably the world’s biggest girl band, Little Mix have been busy promoting their brand new single Woman Like Me across Europe over the past few weeks. One of their most recent stops was at Polish showbiz news website Plejada and they were asked to take part in a live react song which included the one and only Cool Me Down by Margaret…

A line-up of Polish songs for Little Mix

One half of Little Mix, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards were asked by interview host Grzegorz Dobek to give their thoughts on three songs by Polish artists. After hearing tunes by Podsiadłę and Martyniuka, the final song for Leigh-Anne and Perrie to react to was one very familiar to the Eurovision community… 2016 Krajowe Eliminacje runner-up Cool Me Down by Margaret, who also reached the 2018 Melodifestivalen final with In My Cabana.

As you can see from 3:00 into the interview below, Leigh-Anne and Perrie immediately loved Cool Me Down and called it their favourite of the three tracks they heard within seconds of that familiar reggae-pop beat beginning.

“I’ve heard one snippet and I’m already a fan!”

“She’s got Zara Larsson vibes about her!” exclaims Leigh-Anne. Perrie wholeheartedly agrees: “I like the beat, the vibe, the way you can get down… you know?”

Informed by Grzegorz that, at the time of filming, Margaret was in Bilbao for the MTV European Music Awards after winning Best Polish act, the girls said that she fully deserves it. “I’ve heard one snippet”, says Perrie, “and I’m already a fan! Tell her we said hi and we’re fans!”. In addition, asked whether Margaret should embark on an international career: “Oh yes, definitely!” says Leigh-Anne, “she has that Zara Larsson style and she’s massive!”

LM5 on Friday!

The album has been preceded by Cheat Codes collaboration Only You and Woman Like Me featuring Nicki Minaj, both of which have charted highly across the continent.

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
