Minsk 2018

Day 1: Noam Dadon keeps it simple for Israel – REVIEW

ESCXTRA are live from Minsk for day 1 of rehearsals ahead of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018!

Today’s schedule

The countries rehearsing today, in chronological order, are Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Israel, France, F.Y.R. Macedonia, Georgia, Ireland, Albania and Belarus.

Next up to rehearse is Noam Dadon from Israel. We have just watched the first run through of Children Like These live on screen and here is our initial overview.

Rehearsal review

We have a simple performance for Noam from Israel. It begins in a black setting with lights spinning around him on the LED floor. The camera shot mixed with the LEDs gives the effect that these lights are spinning around Noam in real life.

Noam is wearing a black outfit, consisting of a modern looking jacket and jeans. As he enters the first chorus of Children Like These, we are introduced to some blue lighting. Throughout the performance Israel use lots of wide shots of the whole arena that show the full power of the light beams.

As has been customary for several rehearsals thus far, the blue lighting beams change to gold for the final chorus. The final shot sees the light beams merge into a wall of white light which looks strong.

Israel are keeping it simple here and are letting Noam and the song do the talking… or should I say singing!

Watch the rehearsal!

Ryan Cobb

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
