Minsk 2018

Day 1: Tamar Edilashvili is in highway traffic for Georgia – REVIEW

ESCXTRA are live from Minsk for day 1 of rehearsals ahead of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018!

Today’s schedule

The countries rehearsing today, in chronological order, are Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Israel, France, F.Y.R. Macedonia, Georgia, Ireland, Albania and Belarus.

Next up to rehearse is Tamar Edilashvili from Georgia. We have just watched the first run through of Your Voice live on screen and here is our initial overview.

Rehearsal review

Tamar begins her performance laying in the centre of the B-stage. As the first verse progresses, she gets to her feet and walks over to the centre of the main stage. Once she arrives, we see an extremely effective LED full of highway traffic that harks back to the video clip for Your Voice.

The lyric “Just step on your way” is also shown on the LED screens. The light beams appear during the chorus. There’s also several shots where the camera spins around Tamar to create the energetic effect the song possesses.

The whole performance feels very cool and bold with Tamar commanding the stage fantastically. She is dressed in a modern twist of black and red Georgian traditional dress with the “Every vision is yours” lyric embroidered onto her jacket.

Watch the rehearsal!

Stay tuned for our review of Taylor Hynes’s rehearsal of IOU next for Ireland!

Ryan Cobb

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
